GM cars have the ID information in many different places. If you do
not find the code in one of the places mentioned above, please check your
Owner's Manual for the location of paint color code. The manual will
not tell you what the color code is, but where it is located. Your final
option is to contact the dealership with the VIN number on your vehicle,
and they can provide you with the paint code.
Paint Color Code Looks Like: The sticker is moved
around from year to year, but it is usually a silver or white paper label.
Most paint codes start with a "WA", most cars and trucks will start out
with a "BC/CC" or a "U" and be followed by a 4-digit code, i.e. WA9795,
but it may just be 9795. BC/CC stands for basecoat/clearcoat, and the U
stands for upper or body color. With two-tone cars, you will find
a "U" followed by the 4-digit color code for the body color, and an "L"
followed by a 4-digit color code for the lower color or the bumper color.
GM usually lists two different codes on every vehicle. There is usually
a two digit code, such as 26. This code is not the one we are looking
for when you purchase a spoiler.
